Climate Change Indicators - Abundance of the Common Footman MothThe Common Footman moth (Eilema lurideola) is a widespread species in the UK's woodlands. Many invertebrate species are very responsive to climatic fluctuations and the abundance of this species has been shown to correlate with the mean July-August temperature. If average summer temperatures increase we might expect an increase in the number of Common Footman moths. You can also view these graphs on a map. |
